So we left Phantom to guard the casa and went to an ipermercato (hypermarket, like a Target/Walmart thing) to look for quaderni. There was a lot of traffico because everyone was trying to get to/from Vicenza in unusual ways.
Conor brought a libro and read it the whole time:
We found some quaderni, and we poked around too. Here is some horsemeat:
Here is Conor reading in front of some Italian cat food with a grumpy-looking gatto on it:
Here are some tiny panettoni:
Then we went to a caseificio (cheese factory) where they have a giant fiberglass ruota di formaggio outside:
Grana padano is the same as parmagiano, but it's from Veneto, not Parma |
Dentro (inside), there was lots of formaggio (cheese) and things:
Asiago |
Provolone (dolce = sweet) and Grana of various ages |
More formaggio |
Gelato |
Vicenza cooking cream (panna cucina) |
After that, we found a little coffee place and I got frothy warm latte (milk). Here's Conor enjoying his brioche:
That is our cheesy morning! Ciao from me, Bridget
Sounds like a nice, quiet, laid back day. A good day to comb cats. The latte sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing your photos Bridgie!
