Katie and Bridget in Verona!

Today Katie and I went to Verona, which is about as far away as Venice, but in the other direction.  We took a bus to the ferrovia in Vicenza and took another bus to Verona.  Here is Katie with a statua of Vittorio Emanuele II in Verona:

This is the Verona Coliseo:

This is the only bubbler ("drinking fountain") I've seen in an Italian city yet this trip:

The shopping streets in Verona are fancy like this:

We had cioccolato caldo here:

Katie had cioccolato con cocco (coconut) and I had cioccolato bianco alla nocciola (white chocolate with hazelnuts):

Om nom nom!

Verona is conosciuta for being the setting of Romeo and Juliet (although a Vicenzan man told me that the original story had Vicenza as its setting).  La casa di Giuletta is a popular destination in Verona.  Here it is:

There were massive amount of graffiti there:

We took a fast treno back to Vicenza later, and another autobus to Lumignano, where Gene had made risotto di zucca (gourd risotto)  which was delicioso!  So it was another buon giorno for me, Bridget!
